Can a knowledge assistant show its basis?
An imaginary professional-services team maintains policies, operating procedures and research notes across several document formats. The demonstration uses a newly authored synthetic corpus containing deliberate gaps, conflicting versions and access labels.
Permissions are applied at index time, not filtered afterwards. The two amber paths are the ones worth demonstrating: a refusal when the corpus has no support, and a handoff when versions conflict.
WHAT WE WOULD SHOW
Ingestion and explicit source selection
An answer with its citations
A refusal where the corpus has no support
A version conflict surfaced rather than silently resolved
A review queue for a candidate risk
A risk matrix whose likelihood, impact and economic assumptions the reviewer can edit
PROPOSED ARTIFACTS
Cited answers
Refusal log
Candidate risk register
Reviewer acceptance trail
ILLUSTRATIVE TEST DESIGN, NOT RESULTSILLUSTRATIVE TEST DESIGN, NOT MEASURED RESULTS
A single risk domain, a source-linked candidate register, editable assumptions, and a reviewer acceptance log.
Nothing becomes an alert without a qualified human accepting it. Organisation-specific scales are mandatory; ours are placeholders.
